Suzuki Motor Explores Biogas Production from Cow Manure in India

New Delhi - Suzuki Motor Corporation is actively pursuing the development of biogas fuel for vehicles derived from cow manure in India. This initiative is part of the company's broader strategy to achieve carbon neutrality, focusing on alternatives to electric vehicles to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero.

Recently, Suzuki Motor President Toshihiro Suzuki, along with other senior executives, visited a dairy farm in Gujarat, a state in western India, on December 25. During this visit, they observed the collection of cow manure, which is processed in fermentation tanks to extract methane gas.

The methane produced is utilized as cooking fuel, while the residual fecal matter is converted into organic fertilizer, demonstrating a sustainable method of waste management that aligns with environmental goals.
